The image linked below is an example of the CNC process accuracy capabilities at Microflux. The data in the table is provided to give you an idea of what is possible vs. the amount of process effort required. In addition to the data in the table, a tolerance of +/- 0.01" is almost not necessary to call out, a tolerance of +/-0.005" is relatively 'easy' to achieve, a tolerance of +/- 0.003" requires inspection during the setup of the CNC process to make sure the parts are in spec, and tighter tolerances than +/-0.003" require a special effort to achieve. The table below should help you to understand which type of cnc machines might be involved for tight tolerance features including feature locations, and feature sizes, tight tolerance contours. The table does not consider the use of well known strategies or special tools such as reamers or boring heads to achieve roundness on a milling machine. Please contact us to discuss your project.
